GETTING RECOGNISED IN THE GHANA MUSIC INDUSTRY IS EASIER THAN DOING MUSIC IN THE UK-MICKEY

UK born Ghanaian Artist Michael Yaw Kwapong known by his stage name Mickey has said that making it   in the Ghana music industry is less difficult and stressful as compared to the hustle you go through in the UK when you are an underground artiste.

The young Rapper said because of the number of rappers and musicians in the UK, It becomes difficult to get mainstream recognition hence his decision to leave the UK and pursue his music career in his mother’s home country.

He made this revelation while answering a question about why he left the UK to Ghana purposely to do music.
“Because the UK is so big it’s harder to get known. There are so many rappers in the UK that have been rapping for so many years and have got nowhere. Even though my passport says British, My blood is Ghanaian and I want to start my empire in Ghana.

The Rapper who is currently promoting his single “Desiresaid this on the mid-morning coffee show which airs on Radio GIJ 97.7 fm over the weekend when he was interviewed by Nana kwabena Agyare popularly called Uncle Dj Rob.

KWAME SEFA KAYI AND BOLA RAY CALL SHATTA WALE TO ORDER

Chairman General Kwame Sefa Kayi and Nathan Kwabena Adisi a.k.a Bola ray have called on Charles Nii Armah popularly known as Shatta wale to end his current “beef’’ with Rapper Yaa pono

The two broadcasters said that Shatta Wale has a good brand and should not ruin the image of his brand by getting into useless war of words with other musicians. Bola ray however added that he would love to see Shatta Wale as a Brand Ambassador for Banks and other cooperate institutions.

The two mainstream broadcasters said this on Starr chat yesterday after Shatta wale phoned in to wish Bola Ray a Happy 40th Birthday and also to congratulate him on his 20 years in the media.

Shatta wale has been in the news since last two weeks when he reacted to comments made by Mark Okuraku Mantey which suggested that (he) Shatta wale was not doing dancehall music.
Shatta Wale is currently in a “beef” with Yaa pono and things seem to have gotten out of hands with both musicians releasing explicit songs to throw jabs at one another.

I AM NOT MOVING TO EIB NETWORK- KWAME SEFA KAYI

Chairman General Kwame Sefa Kayi has stated emphatically that he has no plans of moving to work with Bola Ray’s Excellence in broadcast network (EIB).

The outspoken host of “KOKROKOO” which airs on peace 104.3 FM  and arguably the most listened to breakfast show in Ghana said this when he sat in to interview Nathan Kwabena Adisi popularly known as Bola Ray on starr chat which airs on Starr 103.5 FM
As part of events to celebrate Bola Ray’s 40th Birthday and 20 years in broadcasting, Kwame Sefa Kayi sat in to host Starr chat which is originally Bola Ray’s show and was tasked with the responsibility of interviewing the Birthday Man.
Kwame however said point blank to Bola Ray that he has no plans of moving to work with the EIB network when bola Ray jokingly said Kwame could wake up one day and say he wants to work with the EIB network.
“It will not happen! Stop getting any funny ideas. It shall not happen” Kwame said.
Bola Ray also used the opportunity to deny rumors that his EIB network poached from Joy Fm and other stations saying he called on people who shared in his ideologies to come on board.

GHANAIAN SCHOOL GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE--KINGSLEY LOMOTEY WRITES

I'm really saddened to hear the news of this young girl committing suicide. According to sources she killed herself because of some failed courses.

Why would she do something of that sort? That's the the very question we should be asking ourselves. Others claimed it was due to the pressure she faced from the parents, hence she doesn't want to be a disgrace to the family.

If that's the case then, what happens to that student who dropped out of school because she was impregnated by some "useless" boy somewhere.
Again, we can talk of those who got expelled from the university for one or two reasons.

Referring a course is not a bad thing, neither is it  good. Some people have used failed courses to become better students than they were before. Failing a course doesn't necessarily mean you are a bad student and a failure, no!
As the saying goes, "failure is not when you fall, it is when you refuse to get up from that fall".

Talking about she facing a lot of pressure from the parents. This shouldn't be an issue for her reason. I don't think anyone will encourage his/her ward to play more than they learn in school. They (parents) want all the very best for their children even though they are sometimes hard on them.

In my opinion, anyone who commits suicide does not believe in their maker. Because if they did, they should have known that there is always hope for the future.

I think there is more to this story than her committing suicide. I wish the Police and the Investigation team all the very best in their findings.
May her soul Rest in Peace.
