UNCLE DJ ROB DROPS “60 YEARS ON MIXTAPE”

Broadcaster and DJ Nana Kwabena Agyare Known in Showbiz circles as Uncle Dj Rob has released a new mixtape to commemorate Ghana’s 60 Years Anniversary. The one hour long mixtape contains hardcore rap songs made and brewed in Ghana by the very best in the industry. Speaking on why he decided to do a Gh. Hip pop mixtape, the fast rising broadcaster said that Ghanaian Hip pop industry   have proven critics wrong and felt they deserved to be celebrated as Ghana marks its 60 years of independence. “When Rap music started in Ghana, Many people said it was not our style and Ghanaian rappers cannot sell on the international market but today, we have the likes of M.anifest, Sarkodie and others representing Ghana internationally and I believe it’s time to celebrate Ghana made Hip pop.” He said He however added that he cannot root for any of the artistes nominated for the Hiplife/Hip pop artiste of the year since all those nominated put in much effort to earn their nomination.

UK born Ghanaian Artist Michael Yaw Kwapong known by his stage name Mickey has said that making it   in the Ghana music industry is less difficult and stressful as compared to the hustle you go through in the UK when you are an underground artiste. The young Rapper said because of the number of rappers and musicians in the UK, It becomes difficult to get mainstream recognition hence his decision to leave the UK and pursue his music career in his mother’s home country. He made this revelation while answering a question about why he left the UK to Ghana purposely to do music. “Because the UK is so big it’s harder to get known. Young talented Rapper Osei Kwaku Vincent known in showbiz circles as strongman has debunked rumors that he cannot rap in English. The University of Cape coast Graduate said this when he was interviewed by broadcaster Nana kwabena Agyare (Uncle Dj Rob) on the mid-morning coffee show which airs on Radio Gij 97.7 an Accra based campus radio station. “I can really do it, the thing is I just don’t feel like doing it”- He said He further added that despite the fact that Sarkodie only raps in our local language which is “Twi”, he has won a BET award and is recognized on the international scene as compared to the likes of M.anifest and E.L who are known to do English Rap. The Kumasi based Rapper also said even though he does not understand the lyrics of Rapper Edem’s songs, He enjoys it. He concluded by saying that Language is not a boundary when it comes to music.

KWAME SEFA KAYI AND BOLA RAY CALL SHATTA WALE TO ORDER

Chairman General Kwame Sefa Kayi has stated emphatically that he has no plans of moving to work with Bola Ray’s Excellence in broadcast network (EIB). The outspoken host of “KOKROKOO” which airs on peace 104.3 FM  and arguably the most listened to breakfast show in Ghana said this when he sat in to interview Nathan Kwabena Adisi popularly known as Bola Ray on starr chat which airs on Starr 103.5 FM As part of events to celebrate Bola Ray’s 40th Birthday and 20 years in broadcasting, Kwame Sefa Kayi sat in to host Starr chat which is originally Bola Ray’s show and was tasked with the responsibility of interviewing the Birthday Man. I'm really saddened to hear the news of this young girl committing suicide. According to sources she killed herself because of some failed courses. Why would she do something of that sort? That's the the very question we should be asking ourselves. Others claimed it was due to the pressure she faced from the parents, hence she doesn't want to be a disgrace to the family. If that's the case then, what happens to that student who dropped out of school because she was impregnated by some "useless" boy somewhere. Again, we can talk of those who got expelled from the university for one or two reasons. Referring a course is not a bad thing, neither is it  good. Some people have used failed courses to become better students than they were before. Failing a course doesn't necessarily mean you are a bad student and a failure, no!
