GHANAIAN SCHOOL GIRL COMMITS SUICIDE--KINGSLEY LOMOTEY WRITES

I'm really saddened to hear the news of this young girl committing suicide. According to sources she killed herself because of some failed courses. Why would she do something of that sort? That's the the very question we should be asking ourselves. Others claimed it was due to the pressure she faced from the parents, hence she doesn't want to be a disgrace to the family. If that's the case then, what happens to that student who dropped out of school because she was impregnated by some "useless" boy somewhere. Again, we can talk of those who got expelled from the university for one or two reasons. Referring a course is not a bad thing, neither is it  good. Some people have used failed courses to become better students than they were before. Failing a course doesn't necessarily mean you are a bad student and a failure, no! Organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana music awards, Charterhouse have released the various nominees for this year’s event. The release was done in collaboration with EIB network owners of Ghone tv,  starr fm, live fm, Kasapa fm amongst others. This year's awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 8 and it is expected to be preceded by a host of events put together by the organizers of the prestigious awards which has had its fair share of criticisms and corruption allegations. The awards ceremony is held every year to recognize and celebrate various artiste for their hardwork and creativity in the previous year. Fast Rising Afro pop and Rnb Singer Adina Thembi has stated that she has never doubted the credibility of the Vodafone Ghana music Awards despite controversies surrounding the event. Her comments comes at a time where the credibility of the Vodafone Ghana music Awards is been questioned by many following a statement made by the Head of Communications  for  charter House George Quaye. Senior minister nominee Hon. Yaw Osafo- Marfo has stated that his role is different from that of the chief of staff. He made the clarification when asked by a member of the vetting committee if his role was any different from that of the chief of staff.  In defining his job description, He said his role was to coordinate all economic sectors of the government unlike the chief of staff who was responsible for coordinating all activities surrounding the president. The vetting committee began its work earlier today at parliament house and is expected to vet yaw Osafo Maafo senior minister nominee, Kan Dapaah national security minister nominee and others. The committee which is chaired by joseph Osei owusu is expected to extend its work to tomorrow January 21, 2017 in order to vet other ministerial nominees as well. BEN EPHSON THROWS INSULT AT NPP's DEPUTY GENERAL SECRETARY NANA OBIRI BOAHEN Pollster Ben Ephson has called the deputy General secretary of the New patriotic party (NPP) Nana Obiri Boahen a fool on live television. He made the harsh statement on State of Affairs which airs on GHONE television. SHUTTING SOCIAL MEDIA DOWN ON ELECTION DAY WON’T WORK -KOBBY STONE PB (Pressure Bois)

Chief Executive Officer of Pressure Bois Inc. Nicholas Tetteh Nartey popularly known on social media as kobby stone says he disagrees with persons advocating for the shutdown of social media on Election Day. He said this in an interview with Uncle Dj Rob on Radio GIJ 97.9Mhz. The social media marketer said the action if taken would not have any effect because the internet cannot be shutdown. He however added that just like any other thing, the internet has its flaws and people could still use back-doors in case the said action of shutting social media down is achieved. His disagreement comes months after the Inspector General of Police John Kudalor announced at a press conference that the police is considering shutting down social on December 7 this year.
